Our story
When Brian and Paula Galvin met way back in the 1980s working at a neighborhood fish house in Chappaqua, NY, they never knew that one day they would be the owners of their own fresh seafood restaurant in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. The ensuing 25 years of working in fine restaurants and traveling the culinary centers of the world helped them grow to understand and love the business of providing excellent food and gracious hospitality, while annual summer vacations in Martha’s Vineyard fed their love of New England fare. In 2004, they discovered the vacant Little Red Diner in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and an idea formed. Could they resurrect the historic 1920s Bixler Diner and build the kind of New England seafood restaurant they had always dreamed of? The answer... YES they could — and they did! Today, the award winning Ocean House Oyster Bar & Grill provides a cozy atmosphere, where Chef Galvin prepares the freshest seafood available using his trademark New England style blended with contemporary influences and his wife, Paula, creates a comfortable, welcoming, beachy atmosphere for their guests to enjoy. The Wine & Beer menu adds to the experience and friendly, professional servers guarantee a warm welcome.
